Candy whelped a one puppy litter 02/10/2011

Candy being a great mom for her little female shaded cream puppy "CC". CC will look just like her mommy and daddy when she grows up. You can look at the previous litter to see what her progression will be like. Like all shaded creams she is born "mousey looking", some darker than others and almost black. She is kind of a brown looking with black ears, tail and back. All of the black will fall out except a little on the ears and maybe the tail and she will be as light as mom and dad. She is likely to be quite light as she is even starting lighter than usual and has less black hair to lose to begin with.

Candy and Ruffy Litter Long Hair English Cream Dapples
Make no mistake about Candy's quality. I can not quickly tell her from Blondie except she has a little black on her tail. The picture is of Candy with her first litter with Harley. For pet owners this will be a very special opportunity. Ruffy is an exceptional male shaded cream with a great pedigree. Candy is a very pretty CREAM DAPPLE. The white dappling looks like highlighting on a cream very pretty. Candy has very good conformation, is very pretty and has a wonderful personality. BUT she comes from a line which was never shown and has no champions in her pedigree. That doesn't mean they weren't capable, it means the owners never showed them. She is also PRA AFFECTED. Which means she will most likely contact the disease and at some point go blind. The good news is Ruffy is PRA CLEAR. So each puppy gets one gene for the disease from Candy and one "no disease" from Ruffy. The result is the puppies will all be "carriers" but will NEVER GET THE DISEASE. It only takes one healthy gene (called an allele) to insure good health. Normally we do not sell puppies for breeding unless they are PRA clear, although we would make an exception for a knowledgeable breeder who knew what they had and what to do with it and was committed to DNA testing.
Normal price range as pet $800 -$1200 black and creams and shaded creams.
Candy and Ruffy Litter (Planned). While this is not one of our strongest pairings by pedigree, Ruffy is a Ralines Sired line with a total of 17 champions in his 6 generation pedigree. Ruffy is better then Preston, his father. Both of these dogs were chosen for their own looks. Candy comes from a line which has never been shown. She has the right stuff and is totally beautiful. She does have one champion way back in her pedigree. So the litter boasts 18 Champions. She is a rare English Cream Dapple. This litter will be sold as Pet/Companion only (see above). PEDIGREE

Candy and ruffy are very different in temperament. Candy is sweet and pasive, Ruffy is all boy. Candy was going to rule the other puppies until she got in with some older puppies. Then she held her own but could not have her way. Ruffy can hold his own with anyone and is nice to the girls and younger males but is competitive with Harley. Both of these pups are loving and have no bad habits. Candy would be classified as Mature and Ruffy as Active.
There are no guarantees and individual puppies can vary greatly but we expect their puppies to be a mix of ACTIVE and MATURE. By MATURE I mean they will hold still to let children pet them and behave well very early. Many puppies are so active and silly they can not be much company for a year or longer. Active puppies are good for young children because they wear each other out but are harder to deal with for the first year. Even mature puppies have abundant energy and can play and fetch, etc. it is just that they will calm down and hold still. Active puppies are almost always in motion. Neither of these puppies were hyper active or lethargic as puppies. Both were (are) mild mannered, full of life but able to settle down, not silly.
We try very hard to give each owner a realistic expectation of the puppy they adopt. We do not have any mean or ill tempered dogs. We will not tolerate a trouble maker and certainly will not include it in our breeding program, no matter what the pedigree. Some bad or aggressive behavior is learned and some inherited, we try to start you with the best temperament possible to give you that head start.
