Litter Certification

This Litter is Certified NCL CLEAR and PRA carrier . Reggae is certified clear for both. Gunny is certified affected for PRA. The litter will be carrier puppies (none affected). The puppies will be sold as pet only. For details on what this means see DASHaHOUND GUARANTEE

Reggae is from the Whiskers/Pepper litter and Gunny comes to us from Cedar Hills Kennel. Reggae has 58 champions in her 5 generation pedigree. Gunny has 33 champions in his 5 generation pedigree.

This litter will boast an unbelievable 91 champions (if I counted right) in their 6 generation pedigree!! PEDIGREE .

Puppy #2 is a soft wire brindle. We have had a change of thought on this little guy. I still think Reggae must carry for long hair but not necessarily Gunny. I now think this puppy has only one long hair gene and he got it from Reggae but she got hers from Pepper, not Whiskers. It is also clear he is brindle which rules out Harley or Ruffy somehow being involved. The couple was quarantined anyway but just for you skeptics. We had no idea either dog carried for long hair. Long hair is recessive and has obviously been from way back. This little boy is beautiful. Normally we would not produce soft wires but since we have this little guy we will use him to produce a long haired brindle line. He has a great pedigree but the soft wire is not showable. Still he will give us the means to pick up the brindle pattern with a good pedigree into our long hair line.

Because both Whiskers and Gunny are clearly wire with no tendency for soft hair I now think it was Pepper who supplied the long hair gene to Reggae instead of through Whiskers' line.

This is the ONLY gene combination which can produce a 3 coat litter but it would require both Reggae and Gunny to carry for long and we no longer believe Gunny does!

5 Week pictures. This litter is in between the Chipper and Ebony litter with respect to active/mellow. This litter came close on the heels of the Chipper Whiskers litter so there is a good selection of smooth and wire puppies right now.

Dark Red Boy. I am a wonder puppy. I feel like I have a long hair coat. It is long and soft. The trouble is that is genetically impossible. I know who mom and dad are and neither even carry for long hair. I may be a soft wire or a soft smooth with a longer than average coat. Time will tell. Skip leans towards a soft smooth because the two girls are both sires and 50/50 is the most likely distribution. We will have to see. I am cute though and I AM AVAILABLE!!

Brindle Boy. Wow, what a looker. We were hoping for a female brindle from this litter to keep for breeding but did not get lucky. Someone is going to. We THINK he is wire but it is very early to tell.

Reggae Newborn Litter

Whelped May 5. What a good job Reggae and Gunny. Reggae is such a good mom. For a first time mom she has all the right instincts. It will be many weeks before we know which, if any, are smooth hair.

Like her sister Chipper , she doesn't like the disruption. Tucking the babies in and taking a head count to be sure they are all there. Reggae gets very upset if we disturb the puppies. If we mess with them, she sits on them to hide them, so we leave her alone. Note the little Brindle boy on the right. He will be a looker.

Reggae Gunny Litter

This litter should be half smooth coats and half wire coats, black and tans and reds and some or all will be Brindle!!
